Ford Escape Camper Conversion Kit

It's a beautiful wood cutting board that fits perfectly with Compass Camper's drawer system. Unlike most "travel" cutting boards it's big enough to be useful and placing it as drawer top keeps it steady. I switched to wooden cutting boards at home to decrease my exposure to microplastics and now I have a great wood solution for camping as well!

This insert is beautifully crafted. It turns my car into a very organized and usable camper. Installing the turnbuckles was an adventure, but it now feels very secure. It had some very unexpected surprises such as removable dividers in the drawers. Anthony’s personalized suppor throughout was stellar. He offers the kind of supportive and personal attention that adds an added level of confidence while you wait for the build. We were all very impressed with how it was packaged for shipment. I can’t wait to put it to use. I would highly recommend this purchase.

Finest craftsmanship, great camping unit, helped me nap and sleep at rest stops on a 3,000-mile winter trip. Can't wait for summer fun. Putting a tent over the hatchback as an enclosure, can use custom cushions in the car or the tent. I have a Subaru Impreza, so headroom when sleeping is minimal... and like, who cares! Love the drawers, friends think it's fantastic, and I can go for all-day outings and chill, long hauls with naps, and sleep anywhere on a moment's notice. A lake, a book, a chair, a pipe, the drawer sliding tabletop for cooking and making coffee... doesn't get better...And Anthony is terrific. Glad I went to Bend for the delivery.

Got the tall version for the additional headspace when laying down since both my fiance and i are tall. i’ve used it a couple times and it’s really easy to setup. The drawers and extendable table work seamlessly and the drawers provide lots of storage! Can’t wait to go on more adventures in my car!

Anthony did a great noble creating a camping unit for my Forester. I got a single unit with a lift up work space and add on holder for a wash basin. I was a little concerned about feeling cramped but it works fine for my long weekends. Great mattress. With my camping unit and Thule cargo box I am well equipped and comfortable.

I absolutely love the Compass Camper conversion in my Subaru Forester. Here are a few highlights:

Excellent rock solid craftsmanship.

It also looks great especially with the “Native” drawer faces.

My version has a custom rear seat delete with a platform for two small fridges beneath the sleeping platform. No off the shelf seat deletes are available for the Forester that I’m aware of and I was concerned about asking someone to do one. I thought they would be reluctant to do it at all or would charge a lot for the custom work. To my surprise Anthony seemed delighted to take on the challenge and charged a very reasonable amount for the custom work. He was a pleasure to work with and came up with some great ideas that made it better then what I’d originally envisioned.

You can never have too much horizontal space. The drawer false tops and tables really add function and efficiency to the design

With my previous setup (seats folded down & air mattress in the back) I had to pull out quite a bit of camping gear and leave it outside the vehicle in order to have room to sleep. With the new setup I am able to sleep in the car with all of my gear inside the car. On a recent trip it rained several times at night and I was thankful that all my gear stayed dry and clean.

Camp setup is now ridiculously fast – all I have to do is move the front seats forward a bit and I’m ready to crawl in bed.

My camp kitchen set up is now more efficient and quicker to deploy as well.

It can easily be removed and and returned to stock if need be. The main part is held in with four turnbuckles and the custom seat delete is held in with two bolts.

I also highly recommend the optional Roam Rest mattress. It fits the platform perfectly and is amazingly comfortable for how thin it is.

Awesome system! Got the low profile setup for my 2023 RAV4. I wanted more headroom, but in retrospect the drawer setup would have provided sufficient headroom, so part of me wishes I had gone that route, but I’m very happy with the low profile setup. When not in use everything fits under the factory cargo area cover in the cargo space. Well engineered and thought out. Anthony was great to work with, and very helpful explaining everything. Materials and construction are super high quality. I recommend getting the split setup and the mattress. The whole system is well worth the cost and super easy to use. 10/10

Everything is great. I especially appreciate and use the "table" behind the drivers seat. With this camper, I can sit, stretch out or sleep, cook, and travel.

I am beyond happy with my compass camper! The craftsmanship is next level and the communication was top tier. I am so glad I went with this company instead of doing a dyi build.

Anthony did a great job on my conversion kit. I opted for the black aluminum frame and star mosaic drawer fronts. They look great! The product is made very well and it was easy to install. I just got back from Yellowstone, and this setup was great!

Arrived in Orlando in perfect condition, setup after unboxing took less than 10 minutes. Everything worked perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I recommend this item.

Absolutely love it! Drove from CT to Oregon to pick it up. Met Anthony and was installed super fast and easy. Great storage and the pop up table is a cool feature. When extended into sleeping position the platform is very sturdy, set up air mattresses onto it and had a great car camping experience.

!! The drawer storage and lift table are top tier! My cat and I have been traveling and sleeping comfortably for a couple of weeks now.
Packaging was intimidating, coming on a couple pallets, however easy peasy to install!

It’s really obvious & refreshing when someone puts care and effort into the work that they do. I was looking for a build-out for the back of my 4Runner to upgrade my camping and adventuring. I received this camper and am stoked on the quality, the precision in which it’s made, the ease of installation, and just the overall experience. I was nervous to have this made and shipped, but it delivered expertly packed on a pallet and in perfect condition. I cannot say enough good things about this and I can’t wait to break it in this summer.

We just picked up our Compass Camper for a Subaru Outback. Anthony was great at making pick up easy. Installation went better than expected. Anthony reviewed how to best utilize space, gave lots of info on how to get the most out the platform. I am looking forward to getting outside and having this upgrade to make car camping and outside recreation so much easier. Also looking forward to being so much more organized while traveling.

I recently drove to Oregon to have Anthony install a RAV4 camper conversion kit in my 2020 Toyota, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The platform is extremely well-made, sturdy, and professionally installed—Anthony even removed part of the back seat to ensure a perfect fit.

What stood out most was Anthony’s honesty, pride in his work, and reasonable pricing. He was a pleasure to communicate with and went the extra mile by adding a custom compartment under the front passenger seat for my dog when I asked.

I am 5'8" and I have not been able to sleep fully stretched out, toes pointed, in a car until I got this platform. Just having my sleeping pad in my Forester's cargo area with the seats down before was still too cramped with how the front seats would have to be. Now with this design the space above my backseat's footwell is utilized as well and I can sleep truly comfortably, side by side with my partner. The drawers in the back and the space under the platform in the middle of the car provide nice space for easily accessed organized compartments. I've gone on one 2 week road trip so far with this set up and I'm looking forward to many more to come. I also want to say that in the process of ordering this platform I had a bunch of weird constraints with needing to delay pickup by several weeks due to uncertainty with my schedule and Anthony would respond to my emails usually within just a few hours and was accommodating in every way to hold the platform as long as I needed and coordinating with me when I was ready to pick it up. I honestly can't say I've had a better customer service experience than the one I did working with Anthony on this.

I purchased the low profile, split bed configuration with the black aluminum frame with the Roam rest mattress for my 2024 Subaru Outback. It all arrived as promised. The packaging was secure and intact. The freight company was responsive to rescheduling an in-person delivery. The installation video was clear with just the right amount of detail. I got the low profile camper with an extendable table on one side - really happy I did - it’s a huge improvement over my DIY home depot build. I love that it’s carpeted and that the section over the backseat can be moved so I don’t have to take the camper out when I’m driving people. It feels really sturdy and the hooks to lock it in place is pretty genius. Really appreciated the quick responses and great communication from Anthony as well.

I absolutely love my conversion kit. It is a perfect fit for my Subaru Outback and is super high quality. This has been a game changer for my camping adventures.
